It’s MOOCOW – MOOers Case Of the Week – time!

“Jeff ‘Blind Squirrel’ Mooers Finds Nut”
(film at 11)
So this case was approved Preferred, not Best, due to a Cholesterol Ratio of 5.3. We took a look—total cholesterol was a lovely 170, but the HDL (the good one) was low at 32. So we did some math, and discovered the client was only 2 HDL points away from a ratio of 5.0. That should be close enough, we argued, for an exception to Best Class.
It was then that we learned the cutoff for Best Class is actually 4.5. We basically argued our way out of the exception. This embarrassing oversight might have stopped most logical squirrels. Not Jeff—he took the error and doubled down, with more math, and a little shameless pandering.
And we got Best Class. Probably out of pity.
Which is fine.
